Crumlin Garda Station Visit and Streetwise Certs

EVE Cherryfield were very fortunate to visit Crumlin Garda Station on Monday 30th June.  It was the final part of the Community Garda 'Street Wise' programme delivered in Cherryfield by Garda Gina O'Brien over the last couple of months.

The group received their certs, got a nice cup of tea and a tour of the station, including a fascinating look at the interview rooms and cells.

Many thanks to Gardai Gina, Oonagh, Elaine, Damien,  Bobby and Superintendent Liam Carolan for a wonderful experience.  We hope to start the 'Street Wise' programme with a new group in Cherryfield very shortly!

Green Ribbon Event - Ashleaf Shopping Centre

EVE Cherryfield staff and service users held an event on Thursday 19th May in the Ashleaf shopping centre as part of Green Ribbon month. We were joined on the day by Emma from the Dublin 12 Taskforce and Rachael from ARC, fellow members of the Dublin 12 Community Mental Health Forum.

We had a table in a central location and fanned out, handing out Green Ribbons and raising awareness of mental health issues. Conversations were started with members of the public about mental health, fighting stigma and raising awareness.  Many people shared their own stories with us and the feedback we received was very positive. Thanks to all who took part on the day.

Huge thanks to the Ashleaf Shopping Centre for allowing Cherryfield facilitate their event and taking part in the Green Ribbon Campaign. To learn more about the Ashleaf Shopping Centre pelase click on the image below.

D12 CMHF Mental Health Survey

The Dublin 12 Community Mental Health Forum is conducting a voluntary survey during February and March with people who use our various services.

The purpose of this survey is to look at what services are available to adults experiencing mental health difficulties in the Dublin 12 area, to get feedback on experiences of the current services, and to identify gaps in service provision.

We hope to have some results from this survey over the coming weeks.

Dublin 12 Mental Health Forum Laughter Lunch

The D12 Forum was officially launched on the 25th of November.  The turnout was fantastic and Father Kitt Court was the perfect venue for our Laughter lunch wellbeing and information event.
Esteemed speakers and guests, including Ms Orla Barry, CEO of Mental Health Ireland, and Mr John Moynes, comedian and person with his own mental health experience, supported the D12 Community Mental Health Forum to launch the Forum formally and to help raise awareness of this important new initiative in the Dublin 12 community.
